In Emek Hefer, we are proud to be part of Act2gether for Child Rights & Well-being, showcasing how youth-led ideas can strengthen and connect communities. We believe every voice matters and that empowering young people can create stronger, more connected communities.

Who We Are

We’re ten 8th grade students from Ruppin School in Emek Hefer;  full of energy, curiosity, and a shared passion for making our voices heard. Coming from different small rural communities across the region, we’ve joined forces to create a project that reflects the diverse needs and perspectives of local youth.

Our Project: Eye to Eye

“Eye to Eye” is all about creating open, inclusive spaces where young people can express themselves and be heard. We’ve designed and launched three creative platforms within our school:

• A Digital Wall – A space where students can post thoughts, ideas, and opinions, and respond respectfully to one another.
  
  
• A Youth-led Podcast Series – Produced entirely by us and shared online, covering topics that matter to young people in our community.
  
  
• A Dedicated Website – Bringing all parts of the project together, showcasing our podcasts, student voices, and resources to raise awareness about children’s rights.
  
  

Our next step is to form a student-led committee to respond meaningfully to the ideas raised, making sure every voice is heard and considered.

The Rights We’re Focusing On

• Article 12 (Respect for the Views of the Child) – Every child has the right to express their views freely in all matters that affect them, and for those views to be taken seriously.
  
  

Article 13 (Freedom of Expression) – Every child has the right to seek, receive, and share information and ideas of all kinds, across all forms — spoken, written, artistic, or digital.
