From our Druze village of Kisra-Sumei, we are proud to be part of Act2gether for Child Rights & Well-Being to give youth a strong voice and turn ideas into action. We joined because we believe every young person deserves to feel supported, heard, and understood. Being part of this network gives us the tools, confidence, and connections to turn our ideas into real solutions for our community.

Who We Are

We’re eight 11th–12th grade students with deep roots in Kisra-Sumei and strong ties to the wider society around us. We care about our peers’ mental and emotional well-being and want to break the silence that too often surrounds it. This project is about creating safe, stigma-free spaces where every teen can talk openly, find support, and feel less alone.

Our Project: Akhwan

Akhwan is a youth-led mental health app created by and for teens. It offers:

  • A private journaling space and emotional diary

  • Tools for managing stress, anxiety, and emotions

  • Culturally relevant content that speaks to our real lives

  • Discreet access to professional support

  • A supportive, anonymous peer community

Our dream is for Akhwan to be a trusted companion for young people navigating life’s challenges, promoting connection, care, and confidence every step of the way.

The Rights We’re Focusing On

  • Article 24 (The Right to Health) – Every child has the right to the highest attainable standard of health, including access to quality medical and mental health services.

Because mental well-being is a basic right and a foundation for young people to thrive, we want every teen to know: you are not alone, and support should always be within reach.
