Who We Are

The Youth Advisory Group (YAG) is where young people take the lead in shaping the Act2gether project. We’re a team of 15–17-year-olds from the National Student and Youth Council, bringing together diverse voices to guide, strengthen, and co-create every part of the initiative.

Working closely with project managers and mentors, we make sure youth perspectives are at the heart of every decision. Our involvement improves the project, keeps things transparent, and creates meaningful opportunities for youth to exercise their right to participate.

Our Role in the Project

As core partners in Act2gether for Child Rights & Well-being project, we contribute in many ways:

• Advising on gatherings and activities
  
  
• Defining criteria for group projects
  
  
• Collaborating on planning, project design, and grant distribution
  
  
• Building connections with municipal, social, and other stakeholders
  
  
• Leading and facilitating sessions
  
  
• Reflecting and evaluating our work as we go
  
  

Since August 2023, we’ve been part of every step of the project, helping shape it from the inside.

Our Project: The Documentary

Beyond our advisory role, we launched our own project: a youth-led documentary capturing the full Act2gether for Child Rights & Well-being journey. We follow participants, interview groups, and explore how young people identify and act on the rights that matter most in their communities.

This film is more than a record, it’s a way to amplify youth voices, spark conversations, and raise awareness about children’s rights and participation.

The Rights We’re Focusing On
 

• Article 17 – The Right to Access Information
  This article ensures children can access information from multiple sources while being protected from harm and supported in their well-being.

Our documentary brings this right to life: created by young people, about young people, and for a wider audience. It’s a tool for education, advocacy, and understanding how youth can lead change in their communities.

Through Act2gether and this film, the YAG continues to lead with vision, voice, and purpose.
