At Hadassah Neurim Youth Village, being involved in Act2gether means transforming our experiences into action. We live and learn alongside peers from all over the country, and we know what it’s like when rights aren’t always respected. That’s exactly why we joined- to turn our experiences into action and build something that makes life better for every young person here.

Who We Are

We’re ten students, ages 14–18, from diverse backgrounds, living together in a boarding school by the sea. Our differences make us stronger, and our shared vision unites us: to create a space in the village where youth can truly live their rights every day. We want this to be more than just a local change; we aim to build a model that other schools and youth settings across Israel can follow.

Our Project: In Our Hands

“In Our Hands” is a youth-designed, youth-led social and learning space inside our school, managed entirely by us. It’s not about adults deciding what’s best for us, it’s about shaping, leading, and owning a space where we can:

• Have honest conversations, share struggles, and dream big
  
  
• Make decisions about our lives and futures together with the school
  
  
• Explore, grow, and co-create meaningful learning
  
  
• Practise youth leadership in real and relevant ways
  
  

Youth rights aren’t just words on paper, they’re about having the freedom, voice, and opportunity to be ourselves and grow with purpose.

The Rights We’re Focusing On

• Articles 12 & 13 (Freedom of Expression and Participation) – Every child has the right to express their views freely and for them to be taken seriously.
  
  
• Articles 28 & 29 (The Right to Education) – Every child has the right to education that supports their abilities and helps them reach their full potential.
  
  

Article 6 (Survival, Life, and Development) – Every child has the inherent right to life, and the chance to grow and develop to the fullest extent possible.
