New Program for Community Resilience and Growth in Northern Israel
The Education for Life Foundation is proud to launch a new initiative aimed at strengthening community resilience, supporting educators, and equipping children and youth with essential tools to navigate the challenges of an ever-changing reality in the North.
The program is grounded in the foundation’s unique approach, which views the cultivation of each individual’s inner diversity, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual as a key to personal growth and the development of a “whole self.” Through advanced pedagogical tools, participants engage in meaningful and enriching experiences that enhance their ability to understand, communicate, and actively participate in the world around them.
We believe that strengthening the individual strengthens the entire community. Together, we are building a resilient, supportive, and meaningful future.
Program in Action: Lehavot HaBashan
Over the past two months, the “In Our Hands” program was implemented with 7th–8th grade students in Lehavot HaBashan, in the Upper Galilee.
Throughout the sessions, students explored the value of mutual respect within the group, and reflected on the power of words, encouragement, and the ability to truly see one another. The program emphasized each participant’s unique strengths and potential, while fostering deeper connections and relationships among group members.
Participants engaged in meaningful discussions on personal and collective responsibility, using emotional dialogue and real-life scenarios drawn from their daily experiences.
As part of the program, we also facilitated a dedicated workshop for parents, where they were introduced to the foundation’s approach and provided with practical tools to support both their own well-being and that of their children.
Expanding Impact: Youth Leadership in the North
As part of our broader efforts to strengthen resilience in northern communities, three additional youth groups are participating in our international Child Rights project, located in Kisra-Sumei, Kiryat Shmona, and Katzrin.
High school students (grades 10–12) are deepening their understanding of children’s rights and are already actively developing community-based social initiatives aimed at creating real and lasting change within their local environments.
This project plays a significant and meaningful role in empowering youth leadership groups, strengthening their belief in themselves and in their ability to create genuine impact.
