Education for Life is launching the first cohort of two new programmes for local authorities, educational institutions and non-formal education organisations seeking to create meaningful change in the way they work with children and young people.
Both programmes are grounded in an approach that sees children and young people as active partners in processes that affect their lives, while recognising the importance of educational environments that identify and nurture the strengths, needs and unique potential of every child.
Partners for Change
Partners for Change is designed to help children, young people and educational teams become genuine partners in decision-making and in leading change within their schools and communities.
Throughout the programme, participants will learn how to identify real challenges in their environment, explore them from different perspectives, make decisions together and develop a shared initiative that leads to practical change.
Seeing Strengths
Seeing Strengths supports educational teams in strengthening their ability to recognise the strengths, needs and potential of children and young people, and to embed a strengths-based approach in their everyday practice.
The programme encourages a shift from focusing primarily on difficulties and gaps towards a broader view of each child or young person – their abilities, resources and potential, and the ways in which the educational environment can support their development.
What do participating organisations receive?
Selected organisations will receive a comprehensive package that includes professional training, practical tools and resources, ongoing implementation support and funding to deliver the programme.
The first cohort will enable a group of institutions and organisations to implement the programmes during the coming programme year, while benefiting from professional guidance, shared learning and an evaluation of the programme’s impact.
Education for Life invites local authorities, educational institutions and non-formal education organisations interested in taking part to submit their applications.
