For two fascinating days, the teens of the ACT2GETHER Youth Advisory Group (YAG) gathered for a unique, professional training seminar. Held on November 13, the seminar was designed to equip participants with practical tools in storytelling, online content creation, and podcasting, serving as a core component of their training program within the project.
About the Group
The Youth Advisory Group (YAG) is made up of 15- to 17-year-olds who are representatives of the National Student and Youth Council. This national representative body is dedicated to strengthening youth involvement and influence, ensuring their voices are heard in the public sphere and in decision-making processes that affect their lives.
Embracing this spirit, YAG members bring diverse voices and a young perspective to Act2gether. Working closely with project managers and mentors, they ensure that the youth’s point of view remains at the heart of every decision. Their involvement ranges from advising on activities and defining project criteria, to building partnerships with community and municipal stakeholders, facilitating sessions, and leading ongoing learning and evaluation processes.
Leading Projects: From Documentary to Podcast
As part of Act2gether, the group initiated and produced its own flagship endeavor: a documentary film following the project’s journey from start to finish. Focusing on Article 17 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (the right to access information), the film is much more than a mere record. It is an educational and advocacy tool created by youth for youth, aimed at amplifying their voices, sparking conversation, and demonstrating how young people can lead meaningful change in their communities.
Alongside their filmmaking efforts, the group is produced its own podcast “Shomim Rega?””, which serve as another modern platform for young people to make their voices heard. Driven by our deep belief in the ability of youth to lead the conversation, we at Education for Life (EFL) are proud to fully support and fund the production of this podcast.
This current training seminar was created for exactly this purpose: to provide participants with professional backing and all the practical tools they need—from shaping a message, to writing, to hosting—so they can release the highest-quality content possible.
Learning from the Best
To transform their stories into content that makes an impact and resonates externally, the teens met and learned from some of the industry’s top lecturers and content creators. The professional workshops were led by Adam Ben Shabbat, Rom Attik, Ido Kanner, and Dor Segal Albuquerque. These experts shared the secrets behind building captivating narratives, producing podcasts, and creating high-quality digital content.
From Theory to Practice
The seminar didn’t stop at theory and lectures. Throughout the two days, participants jumped right in, gaining hands-on experience in storytelling and content creation. They practiced how to shape a social message, captivate an audience, and use online tools to convey their ideas as clearly and powerfully as possible.
The Next Generation of Opinion Leaders
This training marks another milestone in Act2gether’s core mission: providing youth with the platform, tools, and confidence to voice their opinions on issues of child rights and equality. Armed with their new skills, our youth are more ready than ever to tell their stories and drive change in both the public and digital spheres.
